28806 Deli

Modern American dining meets
modern design

After nearly four years in business, Eric Backer needed an aesthetic update for 28806 that would suit both the lunch-time aspect of the busy deli as well as its after-five, upscale dining experience. Eldorado Modern used curved partitions & bold, graphic paintings from the offices of Spartan Mills, a textile manufacturing plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina to give 28806 Deli a modern design edge to match its delicious meals. The partitions change position often in the restaurant to create nooks giving varying degrees of intimacy. The paintings were created in 1974 by Artafax, and each is a numbered, hand-painted, signed period reproduction of an Arens-Ostresh original graphic painting.
